Italy - Photos & Sketches

Terni, the Umbrian provincial capital about an hour north of Rome, is a major industrial city which was bombed out during WWII and rebuilt.  It is between the Nera and the Serra rivers, and was the birthplace of the emperor Marcus Claudius Tacitus.  It is a central location to roads leading to Umbrian hillside towns.

La Romita School of Art has been in operation for nearly 40 years. This renovated 16th century Capuchin monastery sits in an ancient olive grove above the town of Terni.
